Class Description

Family to Civil Mediation Training consists of lectures, written exercises, group discussions, and mediation simulations. This 16-hour course, held over two days, is designed to give participants practical experience in mediation. Each participant will engage in role play, taking on the roles of mediator, plaintiff, defendant, or attorney.

While acting as the mediator, participants are required to deliver opening statements and facilitate dispute resolutions. The goal of these role-play exercises is to build experience and confidence in handling real-world mediation situations, leading disputes either to resolution or to a designated time limit.
